About Sanket Foundation
Empowering the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in India
Our Establishment
Established in February 2013 in New Delhi, Sanket Foundation operates under the Registered Trust Act, Government of Delhi, with Reg. No. 4/4/4278. Recognized under section 12A of the Income Tax Act –1961, and approved for tax exemptions under section 80-G (5) of the Income Tax Act, 1961, we ensure that 50% of all donations made to Sanket Foundation are exempted under section 80G.
The Deaf and Hard of Hearing Landscape in India:
India is home to 18 million deaf and hard of hearing individuals facing various challenges in education, access, communication, and opportunities. A wealth of literature reflects the frustrations encountered by this community in their quest to enhance their quality of life. Stereotyping and exclusion persist due to stigma, ignorance, and language barriers.

Tina Saighal
founder of Sanket Foundation
Tina Saighal, founder of Sanket Foundation, is hard of hearing and has professional experience of over 15 years as an architect in India and then as a management consultant in Private Equity firm in London. She has a degree in Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) from School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi (India, Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Columbia Business School, New York (USA), and a diploma in at Enhancing Early Education, run by the prestigious the SRF Foundation, known for The Shri Ram Schools in Gurgaon and New Delhi. She has served on the board of trustees of Royal Association for the Deaf People (RAD), in London, UK for over 5 years. She is passionate about her vision for an equitable world for deaf and hard of hearing people in India and is leveraging her experience to address the gaps.
Praneeta Sukanya Kapur has several years of experience of working at grassroot levels to bring their issues to the mainstream, balancing them the sensitivity of the needs of the beneficiaries.
She works with the American Jewish World Service and is based in New Delhi, India. Praneeta has a Masters Degree in Social Work and has worked with URMUL, a grassroots NGO in the state of Rajasthan, with Oxfam (GB) and with The Hunger Project, an organization that works with elected women representatives. She was the Program Manager, India for Gender At Work an international organization working to end discrimination against women and advance cultures of equality.

CA (Dr.) Subhajit Sahoo FCA,LLB
CA (Dr.) Subhajit Sahoo FCA,LLB is a practicing Chartered Accountant and consults on legal, governance and financial issues for NGOs in India, South Asia, Africa & Middle East. He advises various international funding agencies, NGOs and and corporate foundations on implementation and evaluation of projects and at various stages. The NGO’s he has advised include Guidestar International, UK, Room to Read, New Delhi, Responsible MICA Initiative, France, Sightsaver, Mumbai, Azim Premjee Philanthropic Initiative, Bangalore, among many others.
Karan Datta
Karan Datta has corporate work experience of 26 years. Last assignment as Chief Business Officer at Axis Mutual Fund. Karan has been part of the founding team of Axis MF and made it the 10th largest MF in India. He has also worked in global firms such as Franklin Templeton, Goldman Sachs both in India and overseas. He is now pursuing his passion as an avid sportsman, a nationalist, fashion curator, speaker at various forums.

Rohan Singh
Rohan Singh after completing his B.Com, Rohan did a course in DTISL to be a qualified professional sign language teacher from ISLRTC. During his training, he translated many NCERT material into Indian Sign Language. As a Deaf teacher at Sanket Foundation, he teaches Deaf students English, bi-modally in English and in Indian Sign Language.
